A big part of running a successful business is making sure that everyone knows about it. Unfortunately, though, that can be a lot easier said than done! If you want to make your business more visible, tap into the power of social media marketing and take advantage of these expert tips:

Offer specials to your social media contacts

If people know that they’re going to get extra discounts and perks by “liking” you on Facebook or following you on Twitter, they’re going to do it! And, in return, they’ll give you things that you would have a real hard time getting otherwise, like solid word-of-mouth advertising and repeat business.

Show people that you’re genuinely excited

A big problem that people have in social media marketing is posting something because they feel like they “have to”. Guess what? That lack of enthusiasm shines through, and it’s not a good way to get people talking about your business.

Instead, make sure that all of your tweets, status updates, and comments show off genuine excitement. After all, if you’re that excited about your business, other people will be, too!

Talk like a “real person”

When was the last time you told all of your friends about the awesome sales pitch you just read? It doesn’t happen! Instead, the key to getting people to remember you fondly is to leave all of the corporate jargon out of your conversation. After all, that’s what social media really is all about: engaging in true-to-life conversations!

Remember: people log into their social media accounts in order to relax and have some fun. If your Facebook or Twitter page isn’t “fun”, it’s not going to get anyone talking about you.

Don’t forget to listen

Sites like Twitter and Facebook make it really easy to just spout on and on about ourselves. But what about your target audience? After all, their opinions are what really count. If you don’t take the time to read all of the feedback on your social media pages, you’re ignoring what your target audience wants and thinks – and that’s no way to increase your business’ visibility!

Instead, dedicate a portion of your tweets and Facebook status updates to ask your followers questions, or to ask for their feedback. That way, you’ll be able to come up with new products and services that truly reflect what your target audience wants!

    What you just have said is true. Most companies don’t really reach out to their customers. I think companies should show to the customers that they value them.
